We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide seven days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis.
If you need help from our foodbank there are a few simple steps to follow.
In order to provide the most appropriate help for the circumstances of your situation we work with local agencies. If they feel you are struggling to put food on the table, they will issue you with a foodbank voucher. The local agency can also provide long term support if needed to help address some of the issues behind the reasons for your crisis. Agencies we work with include: Citizens Advice, housing support officers, children’s centres, health visitors, social services and some local charities.
If you are a local organisation or charity that works with people who might need the food bank, please contact us directly. If you have any questions, please contact the food bank on 020 3488 9459
We are open as a drop in centre every Sunday from 12 noon- 2pm
Volunteers are the lifeblood of food banks. Your skills could be just what we need.
We want you to enjoy volunteering and there are lots of ways to get involved. Whatever role you choose, you will make a real difference in the life of someone in crisis.
Every day we need to deliver desperately needed food parcels across the borough. Our small army of volunteer drivers makes that possible.
Your business could help us make a real difference in the local community.
The support of local and national businesses is vital to the running of our foodbank. We’d love your business to help us tackle food poverty on your doorstep. There are lots of ways to get involved, from volunteering with us a team building activity, to sharing your expertise.
If your company shares our belief that no-one should go hungry in our local area, we would love to hear from you.

Over 90% of the food distributed by Chapters Foodbank is donated by the public – that’s why your food donations are absolutely vital to our ability to give everyone referred to us a balanced and nutritious seven day supply of food.
If you are happy to drop off food donations, please drop off to:
Al-Ansar IEC 833-835 High Rd Goodmayes Essex IG3 8TD between 1 pm-7 pm
We always welcome donations and promise to use them to provide help to people in crisis. Occasionally we send food to other nearby food banks to support their work particularly if they experience shortages. This ensures your donations go to help people wherever in the UK they are.
